Etymology[edit]
Equivalent to yu̱ta (“river”) + ndiyoꞌo (“hummingbird”). Cf. Alcozauca Mixtec I̱ta Ndioꞌo, Magdalena Peñasco Mixtec Yute Nchoꞌo, San Juan Colorado Mixtec Yutya Nyoho, San Miguel el Grande Mixtec yūcha nchoho.
