Etymology

Borrowed from Latin adōrāre (revere, admire, adore) or Italian adorare (adore).[1] According to Orel, it is a learned borrowing from Latin.[2] Attested in Buzuku's Missal as adoronj (influenced by the Italian cognate), while other old authors use the popular term adhëronj.
