Etymology[edit]

From a Vulgar Latin root *assurdiō (with the Aromanian suffix -ãscu), from Latin surdus or from obsurdēscō. Compare Romanian asurzi, asurzesc, Italian assordire, assordisco, French assourdir, assourdis.

asurdzãscu (third-person singular present asurdzashti / asurdzashte, past participle asurdzãtã)

  1. I deafen, make deaf.
