auti (put on shoes) +‎ -ėti, from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Balto-Slavic *owtei, from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Indo-European *h₃eu- (put on, wear). Cognate with Latvian aut, Proto-Slavic *uti (cf. Old Church Slavonic обути (obuti)).
