Etymology[edit]

cardd +‎ llwnc (throat).[1]

This etymology is missing or incomplete. Please add to it, or discuss it at the Etymology scriptorium.
Particularly: “GPC etymology isn't clear - no entry for carf and the entry for cardd (shame) doesn't seem to fit well. Compare also Romansch carmun (weasel), which may be a cognate or a loan from Celtic.”

Noun[edit]

carlwm m (plural carlymiaid or carlymod)

  1. stoat, ermine (Mustela erminea)[2][3]

Synonyms[edit]

Note: Some of these forms may be hypothetical. Not every possible mutated form of every word actually occurs.
