Etymology

[edit]

catur (four) +‎ asīti (eighty)

Synchronically, the lengthening of the third vowel of the word is anomalous, but is supported by the presence of a long vowel in similar numbers, such as pañcāsīti (85) (= pañca + asīti).

Numeral

[edit]

caturāsīti

  1. eighty four
