Etymology

From a semi-learned alteration (based on its ultimate Latin root) of Navarro-Aragonese jullol, juyol, (to differentiate it from junyo (June)), from Latin iūlius.[1] Compare also Catalan juliol, Occitan julhet and French juillet.
