derrochar
Spanish
Etymology
Probably from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] French dérocher (“to remove rocks from”), or influenced by it, from roche (“rock”). Its original meaning was to "throw down", but it seems to have evolved metaphorically to mean "to sell at a loss", and then "to squander". See also derrocar (“to cast or throw down”).
