From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Albanian *δemb-, from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Indo-European *ǵembʰ- (to bite). Compare Sanskrit जम्भति (jambhati, to snap at) and Lithuanian žembiù (to cut).[2]
