Etymology

From Proto-Albanian *drābnā, from Proto-Indo-European *dʰrew- (to crumble, grind)[1], with diminutive suffix -icë, shaped similarly to grimcë (crumb, particle). Compare Old Church Slavonic дробити (drobiti, crush, break, rupture, grind), Gothic 𐌲𐌰𐌳𐍂𐌰𐌱𐌰𐌽 (gadraban, cut out).
