Rhotacism from emën, preserved in Gheg. From Proto-Albanian *é(n)minad, from Pre-Proto-Albanian *é(n)mina, earlier *ánmina < *ánmena, from Proto-Indo-European *h₁ń̥h₃menh₂ (“names”), collective of *h₁nómn̥ (“name”).[1]
