Etymology

Inherited from Ottoman Turkish حاضر جواب (hazır cevab),[1][2] from Arabic حَاضِر (ḥāḍir) and جَوَاب (jawāb), equivalent to hazır (ready, prepared) +‎ cevap (answer, reply).
