Etymology

From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Albanian *xāljā, from earlier *ksān and suffix -jā, from pre-Albanian *s-keh₂n, metathesis of (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Indo-European *kh₂en, oblique of *kóh₂r̥ (wax) (compare Greek κηρός (kirós), Lithuanian korỹs (id)).[1] The change of *n to l is irregular.
