[edit]From Middle High German hœren
Pronunciation
[edit]Verb
[edit]hüre (third-person singular present hürt or hööt, past tense hurt or hoot, past participle jehurt or jehoot or jehürt or jehööt)
Usage notes
[edit]- The forms hööt, hoot, jehoot are Kölsch. The forms with -r- are used in virtually all other dialects; they may sometimes be spelt hüet, huet, jehuet, indicating the regular vocalization of pre-dental -r-.
- The past participles without rückumlaut are younger forms under standard German influence.
