Romanian

Etymology

Origin disputed. Possibly from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Slavic *županъ, however this theory presents several morphologic and phonetic problems.

Noun

jupân m (plural jupâni, feminine equivalent jupâneasă)

  1. master (a courtesy title for a boy)
