Etymology[edit]

From Proto-Finnic *kakci kümmentä.

Pronunciation[edit]

  • (Luutsa, Liivtšülä) IPA(key): /ˈkɑhˌt͡ʃymːed/, [ˈkɑhˌt͡ʃymːed̥]
  • Rhymes: -ymːed̥
  • Hyphenation: kah‧tšüm‧med

Numeral[edit]

kahtšümmed

  1. twenty

Inflection[edit]

At least the latter part inflects; see tšümme. The only difference is that the nominative singular is kahtšümmed. The initial part may inflect like kahsi in all cases, not inflect at all or exhibit the genitive form in all other forms than the nominative singular; thus the partitive singular may be kahtõtšümmenä, kahõtšümmenä or kahtšümmenä.
