Etymology[edit]

The word klám is considered to be related to the Norwegian word klåmen ‎(moist, glutinous, adhesive). Compare the Greek words gláme ‎(gláme), glámon ‎(glámon), glamyrós ‎(glamyrós) and the Lithuanian word glemes. The word klám is also connected to the Low German word klam.[1]
