Etymology[edit]
Cognate with Mohegan-Pequot maskihcuwash (“grass”), Plains Cree maskosiy, Unami skikw, Munsee míixaskw, Potawatomi mishkos, Malecite-Passamaquoddy pskihq, Malecite-Passamaquoddy msigu, Penobscot mskìhko, Abenaki mskiko.
