Etymology

Probably from minciunã with the verbal infix -edz or from a Vulgar Latin root *mentionō (with the Aromanian suffix -edz), probably ultimately from an alteration of Latin mentior (past participle mentītus) through the influence of mentiō. Compare Romanian minciună.

Verb

minciunedz (past participle minciunatã)
