Etymology

negură +‎ -os, less likely corresponding to Latin nebulōsus. Compare nebulos, a later borrowing. Other Romance languages have similar internal formations: Aromanian niguros, Catalan neulós, Italian nebbioso, Occitan neblós, Sicilian nigghiusu, etc.
