From Proto-Inuit *nuanniʁ- (“enjoy oneself, pleasant, enjoyable”), from Proto-Eskimo *nuna- (“to enjoy oneself”). Compare nuannerpoq (“is nice”), and nuannaraa (“like, appreciate”).
