Etymology[edit]

Probably from a Vulgar Latin *inobviō, from Latin obviō. Possibly only preserved or survived in Megleno-Romanian among the Eastern Romance languages; cf. however also Istro-Romanian ăniurbå. Compare also the related regional Romanian noun uib.
