Late Latin paraclet, from Latin paracletus ‎(advocate, defender, helper, protector, conforter), from Ancient Greek παράκλητος ‎(paráklētos, called to help, helper), from παρά ‎(pará, beside) + καλέω ‎(kaléō, I call).
