Etymology

From Proto-Albanian *pleustā, from Proto-Indo-European *plews-, a form of Proto-Indo-European *plus-. Cognate with Latin pūlex, Sanskrit प्लुषि (plúṣi), Armenian լու (lu), all also meaning 'flea'.
