Romanian

Etymology

From Vulgar Latin *plovere, present active infinitive of *plovō (corresponding to Classical Latin pluere, present active infinitive of pluit, pluō), with a later change to the first conjugation type within Romanian or reformed based on the original subjunctive. Compare Aromanian ploai, Corsican piova.
