Etymology
From Proto-Turkic *kïl- (“to do, to make”) [1]. Cognate with Old Turkic 𐰴𐰃𐰞 (kïl-, “to do”)[2], Turkish kılmak (“to do”), Uzbek qilmoq (“to do”), Chuvash ӗҫ-хӗл (ĕś-hĕl, “work, business, matters, concerns”).
