Etymology[edit]

From one of the continuants of Proto-Germanic *raubōjan (to rob, to plunder). Compare Old Saxon rōbōn, Old High German roubōn, Gothic 𐌱𐌹𐍂𐌰𐌿𐌱𐍉𐌽 (biraubōn).[1]
