Etymology

From Proto-Turkic *sat- (to sell).[1] Cognate with Turkish satmak, Old Turkic [script needed] (sat-, sell), Kazakh сату (satu, to sell), Uzbek sotmoq (to sell), Chuvash сот (sot), etc.
