Etymology

From Proto-Finno-Permic [Term?]. Cognate to Finnish tahko, Votic tahko (wood block), Udmurt тӥш (tiš, axe eye, backside of a blade), and Komi-Zyrian тыш (tyš, axe eye). The meaning of "hone" seen in the Finnic family is possibly originally from a compound word - Lua error in Module:parameters at line 290: Parameter 1 should be a valid language or etymology language code; the value "fiu-fin-pro" is not valid. See WT:LOL and WT:LOL/E., as seen in Votic tahkotšivi (hone).
