[edit]Inherited from Proto-Albanian *ϑat(Vr)-, from Proto-Indo-European *ḱeh₃-(i-) (“to sharpen, whet”). Cognate with Latin catus (“acutus, acute”) and Sanskrit शित (śitá-).[1]
