xòy- (noun stem)

  1. (anatomy, botany) skin, bark

Usage notes[edit]

This noun stem is found in two compounds, but the inflected form is not found in Trager's published work. J. P. Harrington does have the inflected form written as < haiinà >, which suggests the possible inflected forms xòi’íne, xòi’ína, xóyne, or xóyna in Trager's transcription. Trager's fieldnotes will need to be consulted to resolve this.
