Etymology

From Old Galician and Old Galician-Portuguese judeu, judio, from Latin iudaeus (Judaean), from Ancient Greek Ἰουδαῖος (Ioudaîos), from Hebrew יהודי (Yehudi). Cognate with Portuguese judeu and Spanish judío.
