Etymology[edit]
The root is պուրծ- (purc-) (variants փուրթ- (pʻurtʻ-) and փուրծ- (pʻurc-)), whose origin is unknown. Ačaṙean proposes that it may be of the same origin as the root of ապրիմ (aprim).
