Etymology[edit]

Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀅𑀡𑁆𑀡𑀸𑀡𑀺 (aṇṇāṇi), from Sanskrit अज्ञानिन् (ajñānin). Cognate with Bengali আনাড়ি (anaṛi), Marathi अडाणी (aḍāṇī).
