ឧកញ៉ា (ʼokñaa)

  1. (historical) A Cambodian title equivalent to marquess or marquis.
  2. nobleman or lord, an honorary title of modern Cambodia.

Usage notes[edit]

A title of Khmer officials since the eighteenth century, it was created to replace the word ពញា, and it ranks above ព្រះ and below អ្នកឧកញ៉ា.
