Etymology[edit]
From Demotic mlẖ. The orthography is influenced by Μολόχ (Molókh, “Moloch, a god of Moabites and Ammonites”). Vycichl reconstructs the proper Coptic from as *ⲙⲁⲗⲱϧ (*malōx).
