Etymology[edit]

Coined by a user of an online Romanian-learning community on Discord in March of 2022.

The word is derived from the native name of the Romanian letter î (î din i), combined with the suffix -ist.

    2. Does not use the letter ⟨â⟩ at all, without exception.
  2. (by extension) A proponent of Îdinism, a movement to promote these orthographic practices within Romanian linguistics.
