Etymology[edit]
ízlés (“taste, preference”) + -ek (plural suffix) + és (“and”) + pofon (“slap in the face”) + -ok (plural suffix). Literally: “tastes and slaps in the face”. Ellipsis of ízlések és pofonok különbözőek/különböznek (literally “tastes and slaps in the face are different [they can vary per each person]”).[1]
