Etymology

Presumably a calque of Ottoman Turkish قانی قاینامق (kanı kaynamak, “to be lively”, literally “for one's blood to boil”) (see there for further etymology), as this is a common idiom in Turkic languages which is not attested in Greek prior to the Ottoman period. (Can this⁽⁺⁾ etymology be sourced?)

βράζει το αίμα μου • (vrázei to aíma mou)

1. (idiomatic) to be very lively, active, energetic

   Όταν ήμουν νέος, το αίμα μου έβραζε.

   Ótan ímoun néos, to aíma mou évraze.

   When I was young, I used to be very active.
