Etymology[edit]

Formation like ζωμίλη (zōmílē), κονίλη (konílē) and μαρίλη (marílē). Probably from Pre-Greek, in view of the suffix -ῑλη. Both the alternative forms are due to confusion with μιστύλλω (mistúllō, to cut up).
