Etymology[edit]

Borrowed from Russian кахексия (kaxeksija), from Ancient Greek καχεξία (kakhexía), from κακός (kakós, bad; injurious) + ἕξῐς (héxis, act of having; habit or state of body) (ultimately from ἔχω (ékhō, to have)) + -ῐᾰ (-ia).
