Etymology[edit]

From Proto-Turkic *teŋri. Cognate with Kyrgyz теңир (teŋir), Kumyk тенгири (teñiri), Tatar тәңрe (täñre), Bashkir тәңре (təñre, god, sky), Turkish tanrı, etc.

теҥери (teŋeri) (plural теҥерилер)

Usage notes[edit]

The standard spelling is теҥери but other spellings are also used and pronunciation varies, often the final И can cease to exist. Alternative terms are теҥере (teŋere), теҥре (teŋre), etc.
