אִישׁ דְּבָרִים • (ísh dvarím) m (plural indefinite אַנְשֵׁי דְּבָרִים)
- eloquent, fluent in one's speech, literally a person of words/things
- Tanach, Exodus 4:10, with translation of the King James Version:
- וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה אֶל־יְהוָה בִּי אֲדֹנָי לֹא אִישׁ דְּבָרִים אָנֹכִי גַּם מִתְּמוֹל גַּם מִשִּׁלְשֹׁם גַּם מֵאָז דַּבֶּרְךָ אֶל־עַבְדֶּךָ כִּי כְבַד־פֶּה וּכְבַד לָשׁוֹן אָנֹכִי.
- vayómer moshé el YHVH: bi adonái lo ish dvarím anókhi gam mitmól gam mishilshóm gam meáz daberkhá el avdékha ki khvad pe ukhvad lashón anókhi.
- And Moses saith unto the Lord: O, my Lord, I am not a man of words, either yesterday, or before, or since Thy speaking unto Thy servant, for I am slow of mouth, and slow of tongue.
