  1. To cry, weep.
    • Exodus 2:6, with Young's Literal Translation:
      וַתִּפְתַּח וַתִּרְאֵהוּ אֶת הַיֶּלֶד וְהִנֵּה נַעַר בֹּכֶה וַתַּחְמֹל עָלָיו וַתֹּאמֶר מִיַּלְדֵי הָעִבְרִים זֶה׃
      vatiftákh vatir'éhu 'et hayéled v'hiné ná'ar bokhé vatakhmól 'aláv vatómer miyal'déi ha'ivrím zé
      and openeth, and seeth him -- the lad, and lo, a child weeping! and she hath pity on him, and saith, `This is [one] of the Hebrews' children.'
