Etymology[edit]

Inherited from Proto-Turkic *soglï- (to breathe), the same root of صولوق (soluk, (heavy) breath, pant, gasp); cognate with Southern Altai соолыыр (soolïïr), Tatar суларга (sularga) and Yakut уолуй (uoluy).
