From Aramaic הַדָּמָא (haddāmā), from Middle Persian [script needed] (hndʾm /⁠handām⁠/); compare Persian اندام (andâm), Northern Kurdish endam, Armenian անդամ (andam) and Arabic هِنْدَام (hindām).
