- A discussion or disputation held to find out the truth regarding anything.
- Theological criticism.
- (philosophy) One of the six great Indian philosophical systems, పూర్వమీమాంస (pūrvamīmāṁsa) is a system of ritualism and ఉత్తరమీమాంస (uttaramīmāṁsa) is a system practically the same as the వేదాంతము (vēdāntamu).
