  1. (colloquial, informal) informal polite marker, attaching to the non-polite form at the end of a sentence, ruder than regular polite forms です (desu) and ます (-masu)
    知(し)ってるっす。
    Shitteru ssu.
    I know.
    俺(おれ)のもんっす。
    Ore no mon ssu.
    This is mine.
    すぐ来(く)るっすよ。
    Sugu kuru ssu yo.
    It will come soon.

Usage notes[edit]

  • If the original non-polite sentence ends with だ (da), っす replaces だ.
  • Very colloquial and not considered standard. Often used by male students.
