Etymology[edit]

(gwi) +‎ 보리 (bori). First attested in the Dong'ui bogam (東醫寶鑑 / 동의보감), 1613, as Early Modern Korean 귀보리. Evolved into modern form through 귀우리

Pronunciation[edit]

  • Phonetic hangul: [(ː)]
    • Though still prescribed in Standard Korean, most speakers in both Koreas no longer distinguish vowel length.
