- (chiefly military) Acronym of outside [the] contiguous United States; i.e. Alaska, Hawaii, the US territories, and all other countries.
Usage notes[edit]
This is sometimes mistakenly defined as outside the continental United States, possibly because the concept of "continent" is more familiar than contiguity; but continental would include Alaska.
